Thank you for viewing my photography.  My name is Mike Bailey and I love to capture beauty with my camera.  My wife says I have the eye of an artist and the heart of a poet. As a child I was always drawn to nature, enjoyed looking up at the trees, the moon and the stars, and down at the water, puddles, flowers and fauna.

I am  self-taught and believe we should never stop learning, seeing and creating.  As an award winning photographer, I enjoy capturing the unexpected, unseen gifts that nature provides us.  We just need to slow down and take the time to see it. I am passionate about light, color and composition, and Mother Nature is a wonderful muse.

Originally from Muskoka, I now call Severn my home, though I am fortunate enough to travel to Southwestern USA each year.  The contrast of the two locations is quite stark, but both provide me with many opportunities to continue to study and share my fine art. I hope you enjoy my journeys through my photographic art.

Whether photographing a lone tree in a field of local mustard plants or the relentless arid desert or the mountainous topography, I try to evoke emotion in each of my compositions, so each picture has its own story. I love to share my story behind each piece.

I have a small studio, at my Severn home, where I receive potential clients.  The local art scene, in and around the Orillia area is vibrant, and the talent is outstanding.  Photographing, printing and framing  their art are examples of some of the  services provided to local artists and others.

I also enjoy sharing my craft by teaching, providing lectures and serving on the  Images Tour board, one of the largest artist expos in Simcoe County. If you are interested in my work and would like to know more, please contact me at 705-325-4061 or email me at ashoeboxofmemories@rogers.com.
